Getting New Beginnings Right
How an innovative new pediatric group optimized their openings
Families navigating healthcare for their children often face a complicated journey: multiple appointments, specialist consults, and uncertainty about the next step. When healthcare entrepreneur Danish Qureshi experienced the complex state of pediatric care trying to find care for his own family, he knew he wasn’t alone—and there had to be a way to make care more streamlined and convenient.
That experience was the spark behind Zarminali Pediatrics, a new multispecialty pediatric group that’s growing rapidly across the nation.
“Our name is inspired by the name Zarmina,” says Ashley Moch, senior director of clinic integration and launch at Zarminali. “It’s rooted in the meaning, ‘something that is more precious to you than gold.’ We aim to treat every family with that in mind, supporting them through every stage of a child’s healthcare journey.”
Zarminali Pediatrics is building and opening new clinics across the country that are purpose-built to address the issues of today’s pediatric care system. The spaces use evidence-based design so they’re welcoming, kid-friendly and sensory-friendly from the moment families walk in the door. Today, Zarminali Pediatrics offers primary care and urgent care services, while actively integrating behavioral, occupational, and speech therapy services across many locations to make it easier to coordinate care.
Rapid growth
Zarminali’s growth required support outside the traditional supplier model; they needed a partner who could help them scale quickly.
“We opened our first de novo (newly constructed) clinic in October 2025, and in the following six months we opened 15 new clinics across 5 states” Moch says. “That speed meant we needed a partner who could grow and adapt with us.”
In addition to opening de novo clinics in Michigan, Georgia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois, Zarminali also grew through practice acquisition. With new clinics and legacy sites combined, Zarminali Pediatrics now has 47 locations across 13 states.
Blazing a new trail
With Zarminali’s fast expansion, they needed an operational partner who understood their approach and was agile enough to come up with a way to specifically serve them best. That’s when they sat down with Medline’s Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) team.
“Our job is to come to customers, learn as much about them as we can, and then build solutions that help solve their problems,” says Jonathan Lopresti, Medline’s senior director of SCO. “Zarminali was looking for a partner who could help them grow fast, so we had to be willing to try things.”
Moch echoes that the two teams collaborated closely to create a new way to foster Zarminali’s growth.
“As much as we were building out new processes on our end, they also had new processes they had to figure out,” says Moch. “They asked, ‘How can we help?’ and it really felt like a partnership as they adapted to our needs and we worked through things together.”

Building trust, one clinic at a time
Zarminali worked with Medline to develop new processes, troubleshoot logistics, and refine how inventory showed up at Zarminali’s locations. After opening the first few clinics together and determining what works, the SCO team was able to replicate the process at each new location to help future openings run smoothly.
The SCO team developed a system of pre-building supply carts and “exam rooms in a box” at Medline’s distribution centers.
Products were sorted, bins were labeled, shelves were wrapped, so everything was ready to roll directly into a new clinic. A model room was set up at each location, so clinical staff could see the standard and replicate it across every exam room using detailed planograms.
“They truly became extensions of us,” Moch says. “They could set up a clinic without us being there and we knew exactly what it would look like every single time. This was key to successfully scaling at our pace because it allowed my team and I to focus on other critical business needs.”
Smarter inventory, more efficient care
Beyond de novo clinic set up, the partnership introduced a Kanban two-bin inventory management system across Zarminali’s clinics to ensure each clinic had a standardized approach.
“Kanban is inventory control, but it’s also expense control,” Moch explains. “It helps prevent over-ordering while making sure product is always available.”
In addition to establishing inventory management protocols and standards, every exam room in each location is equipped with a standardized set of supplies organized by drawer, ensuring clinicians have everything they need for any visit without leaving the room.
The impact on clinical operations has been tangible. In many physician offices, medical assistants leave the exam room to gather supplies, adding time to every appointment. Zarminali’s standardized setup eliminates that friction.
“When every exam room is set up the same way, clinicians don’t waste time searching for supplies. It makes visits more efficient and reduces the risk of patient care errors,” Moch says. And staff moving between locations find the same layout, the same products and the same processes they’re accustomed to at their own office.
A partnership that fuels growth
In just over a year, Zarminali and Medline created a partnership that enabled Zarminali to hit its growth targets without sacrificing operational quality.
“We didn’t just ship supplies,” Lopresti says. “We partnered with them to build something new, so we could execute the right way the first time.”
For Moch, the value is measured in what it freed her team to do: “This partnership allowed us to focus on growth rather than the implementation details at each individual site.”
As Zarminali continues to expand its national footprint and introduce new specialties, the model the two organizations built together—turnkey execution and disciplined inventory management—stands ready to grow with it.
